ECHO  HO  STUDIO

CONTACT

Born in Beijing and currently based in Berlin, Echo Ho
is an artist who brings together sound, performance, image, and code into an integrated practice. Working with both personal and collective experience, across different cultural and geographical contexts, she develops her own protocols of expression and tools for navigating a world that is layered, modular, and unpredictable. Her use of multiple modes of expression, as well as materials positioned in productive tension within a pluralistic worldview, points to the unity in multiplicity that characterises her artistic preoccupations. Echo Ho’s practice spans calming sounds and noise, ranging from traditional Chinese music to AI-driven experimentation, guided by principles of responsible and transparent technological practice.  Through both art and teaching, Ho creates spaces for deep questioning and presence, fostering reconciliation, transformation, and an awareness of what is becoming.

Ho studied at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and was a fellow at the Berlin University of the Arts' Graduate School for the Arts and Sciences (2011–2013). She is currently pursuing a doctorate at the Institute of Fine Arts and Cultural Studies, Art University Linz, and from 2023–2024 was a guest professor for Time-Based Art with Contemporary Technology at the Berlin University of the Arts. Her work has been shown and performed internationally.

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS #10: Echo Ho im Gespräch mit Maria Wildeis  für das Medienwerk NRW
June 2025
